1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Smart Canada Tax does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Income figures, tax estimates, or any financial data entered into calculators
• Your Social Insurance Number (SIN), date of birth, or government identifiers
• Your name, address, or personal contact information (except contact inquiries you voluntarily submit)
• Precise or approximate location data
• Device identifiers linked to your financial inputs
• Behavioural analytics or usage tracking tied to any personal identifier

All calculator inputs are processed entirely on your device and are never sent anywhere.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The App may store booked session details and app preferences locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults. This data remains solely on your device, is never transmitted to our servers, and is not accessible to us or any third party. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.

3. Contact Inquiries

If you submit a message through the Services or Contact section of the app or website, your name, email address, and message are transmitted to admin@smartcanadatax.help. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not store it in any database, share it with third parties, or use it for marketing.

4. In-App Purchases & Advisory Sessions

Any in-app purchases or session bookings are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment card details or billing information. Session bookings may be coordinated through Calendly, subject to Calendly's Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

This App does not embed any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or user-tracking tools. We do not serve advertisements.

6. AI Tax Guidance

If you use the Tax AI feature, your typed queries are sent to our AI provider over an encrypted HTTPS connection to generate a response. We do not log or store these conversations on our servers. Financial data entered into calculators is never sent to the AI — only the text you type in the AI chat.

7. Apple App Store & iOS

Apple may collect certain usage and crash data as part of standard iOS operation, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not control or have access to data collected by Apple.

8. Children's Privacy

This App is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

9. Data Security

Since we do not collect or store your financial data on our servers, the risk of a server-side data breach exposing your financial information does not apply. Data stored on your device is protected by Apple's built-in device encryption.

10. PIPEDA / GDPR / CCPA

Because we collect no personal financial data and store nothing on our servers, data protection obligations relating to financial data processing do not apply to our core operations. We do not sell personal information. All data remains under your sole control on your device.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Smart Canada Tax application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Smart Canada Tax for personal, non-commercial tax estimation purposes on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the App solely for lawful personal or business tax estimation purposes. You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems connected to the App

4. Tax Estimates — Disclaimer of Accuracy

All calculations and results provided by Smart Canada Tax are estimates for informational purposes only. They are based on published CRA rates and general tax rules, which may change. Actual tax obligations, credits, and benefit amounts will be determined by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) based on your complete and accurate tax return.

Smart Canada Tax does not:

• Prepare, review, or file tax returns on your behalf
• Provide legal or professional tax advice
• Guarantee the accuracy of any calculation result

Always consult a qualified Canadian tax professional (CPA) for advice tailored to your situation.

5. AI Tax Guidance

The Tax AI feature provides general educational information about Canadian tax topics. AI-generated responses are not professional tax advice, legal advice, or a substitute for consulting a registered Canadian tax professional. Do not rely solely on AI responses for tax filing decisions.

6. Professional Advisory Sessions

The App offers the ability to book paid sessions with third-party Canadian tax professionals. These professionals operate independently. We facilitate the booking but are not responsible for the advice provided during sessions. Advisory session fees are listed in the App and processed through Apple.

7. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Smart Canada Tax may offer optional paid features or advisory sessions. All purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. Where applicable:

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings
• We do not offer refunds outside of Apple's standard refund policy

8. Intellectual Property

All content within Smart Canada Tax — including design, graphics, text, code, and data — is the property of 1000936219 Ontario Inc. or used under applicable licenses. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that tax calculations will be accurate for your specific situation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 1000936219 Ontario Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to taxes owing, penalties, interest, professional fees, or other costs arising from your use of or reliance on this App or any advisory session. Your use of this App is entirely at your own risk.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 1000936219 Ontario Inc. from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through an updated date above or an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
